While you were away, EverFit made some changes to address COVID-19 – including powerful new technology that makes it safe to go back to the gym with confidence.
So much has changed since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out – including EverFit! We’ve been busy making changes and renovating the gym to make it the safe and fun community gym you can count on. We’re especially excited about a new piece of technology that will keep our space clean, healthy and continually disinfected.
UV Light Air Purifiers
To protect the health and safety of our members, EverFit installed a brand new Fresh-Aire UV Air Treatment System, which sterilizes the air throughout the entire gym. The award-winning Fresh-Aire filtration systems combine UV-C light and activated carbon to reduce microbial contaminants and odors in the air. Whereas regular air filters only catch 35% of contaminants, Fresh-Aire systems also airborne viruses, germs, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), mold, odors and more.
How UV Light Air Purification Works
Airborne contaminants can be divided roughly into thirds: 35% particulates, 34% mold and germs, and 31% odors and VOCs. Regular filtration systems are effective against particulates like dust, but they have no effect on the other two thirds. The Fresh-Aire system installed at EverFit, however, is proven to safely reduce both all three forms of air contaminants – including mold, germs, VOCs and other biological contaminants.
Installed in the central air system, the air purifiers continuously remove airborne contaminants as they pass by. Germicidal UV-C light reacts with titanium dioxide-infused carbon cells to neutralize contaminants. The result is clean, odor-free air throughout the entire gym.
UV Light & COVID-19: How Fresh-Aire Makes It Safe To Go Back To The Gym
Fresh-Aire systems are tested and validated to reduce 99.999% of bacteria, viruses, mold & fungus and other microorganisms, according to freshaireuv.com. Each contaminant needs a different dose of UV-C light, and Fresh-Aires systems are made with a high enough dosage to kill 99.999%. Though Fresh-Aire systems do not yet have specific data against COVID-19, they’ve been tested and proven effective against similar pathogens – some that need an even greater dose than coronavirus, according to a specific update on COVID-19 from the manufacturer. Members can rest assured that, among other safety measures, the new Fresh-Aire systems make it more than safe to go back to the gym, so you can go back to focusing on what’s important: your workout.
